Why do you need Training?
The Approved Code of Practice and guidance (ACOP) L143 (2nd Edition), Managing and working with Asbestos, which relates to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR) states that, in Regulation 10:
“employers must make sure that anyone liable to disturb asbestos during their work, or who supervises such employees, receives the correct level of information, instruction and training to enable them to carry out their work safely and competently and without risk to themselves or others.”
To help Customers do this we provide various training courses for Non-licensed & licensed works as well as Asbestos Awareness training courses which should be made available to anyone who may work within a building(s) which contain ACM’s.
In 2014, we delivered 72 training courses to over 750 delegates.
The training courses we can provide
These training courses are required for tradesmen and should be made available to any person who works within a building which contains asbestos. The course will educate attendees on:
- the properties of asbestos and it’s effects on health,
- the types, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos,
- the general procedures to be followed in case of an emergency i. e. exposure, and;
- how to avoid risks from asbestos.
For new operatives, managers and supervisors. Includes practical training and allows attendees to learn the practical procedures and techniques required to safely work with, repair and remove licensable ACM’s.
These courses are required for tradesmen who wish to work on non-licensed ACM’s. Includes practical training and allows attendees to learn the practical procedures and techniques required to safely work with, repair and remove non-licensable ACM’s.
We also provide tailor-made courses for Duty-holders, Managers, Building Occupiers, Caretakers, DLO’s, Maintenance Staff etc. with customised aspects of the Awareness course & the Management of Asbestos course to cater to individual or Customer-specific requirements.
